STEREOTYPISM

STEREOTYPISM IS A POTTERY TABLEWARE COLLECTION INSPIRED BY SUPPLEMENTO AL DIZIONARIO ITALIANO, THE PLAYFUL GUIDE ON ITALIAN GESTURE BY BRUNO MUNARI.THE GESTURAL FOLKLORE IS AT THE BASE OF THE COLLECTION, HERE TRANSPOSED INTO MINIMALISTIC TRAITS AND LINES.

The two series designed by Italian artists Martina Merlini & Lucio Bolognesi present a singular pattern in which every plate is unique but connected to the others, in a combinatory movement creating different and custom-made narratives.

A typical Italian gesture is depicted by Lucio Bolognesi in two colors and in six different perspectives each one arranged with the letters composing in sequence the word “Stereotypism”.

Martina Merlini surrounds the figurative with six different patterns framing each hand. The collection consists of 6 + 6 plates telling a story and every plate is linked to the other in an organic work in which every element is essential in itself and complementary to the whole story.
