Casalinghe di Tokyo is narrative design from Milano.
We apply narrative principles onto contemporary objects, with a specific focus on kitchen & dining accessories.
The domestic space, where intimacy meets hospitality, is the ideal playground where to create powerful stories of taste and aesthetic pleasure.
CDT is inspired by the concept of asobi (遊び) – a disinterested game for the pleasure of doing – a term dear to Bruno Munari, the Italian design icon who promoted ironic, imaginative but always functional view on design.
Every project consists in an ongoing dialogue between what the object is and what the object will become through all the stories connected to it. Superior craftsmanship and Italian cultural heritage are the foundations to create a meaningful bond between kitchen and storytelling.
